What is public domain?

It is when something is not copyrighted so it is labeled as “Public Domain” meaning that is open to be used without the need of permission.

What is Copyright?

Copyright Exists Automatically Upon Creation. Anything you create gives you automatic copyright to it. The laws of copyright come into effect when you use the work of someone else without their permission. Copyright law gives you a set of rights that prevents other people from copying your work and doing other things with your work that you may not like.

- Not everything is protected by copyright law. The following are categories of things not protected:

- Ideas, procedures, methods, concepts, discoveries

- Titles, names, short phrases, and slogans

- Works consisting entirely of public information

- Works by the US government.
